Can't log in to hotmail if the password includes special xml chars

PS: aren't '&%$£' (and similar chars) illegal for the microsoft messenger (in passport.net) ?

Yes.. i think it's a bad encoding password! On aMsn and Pidgin it works!

Odd, as my password has an & in it, and while I do have problems signing in sometimes, most of the time it does sign in. It doesn't however automatically sign in when the connection is lost, or if 'auto sign in' is enabled, it just goes into a retry loop. I don't have a copy of the console output, but I believe it was an authentication error (I guess the MSN server saying wrong password).

I created an account to test this. The password on emesenelib is stored with xml escapes, which should be wrong but works sometimes, so I need an live testcase.
