Hello, I know that this issue was discussed in this post but is closed and I want give my opinion.

I do not understand your opposition to create subforums for languages other than English, moreover, argues that the developers do not understand but that is not true.

+ Subforums other languages are used to help people with little knowledge of English (a large majority) in the use of Emesene. The developers here have nothing to do.

+Subforums of other languages to help a community grow as participation and dissemination of Emesene would be higher.

Do not you have stopped to think that perhaps the community is small because it is restricted to just one language?

+All projects now famous subforums have at least one or two language, aMsn is a good example.

This is my model of international forum:

-> A forum main English-speaking, a meeting place for English speakers and developers Emesene.

-> After a number of subforums with one or 2 category (if possible) for the support and others.

A good example is the forum project aMule: http://forum.amule.org/

And.... Why not use the Google translator?

Well, for several reasons:

-The translation is not perfect. Sometimes it is very bad.
-There is nothing comfortable going translating text by text.
-It is much simpler and easier to communicate with people who speak the same language.

Good points. But see it from the admin side. You would need a moderator or even more for each language.
But ok, Feature requests and Support could have language specific forums

I do not think that is a problem assign a moderator for each forum.

That if the moderators must know English in order to communicate with admins.

Well, but it is even true that we have a large community in terms of spoken language. The last time we did the count, we had French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, and even more language-speakers. So, I think that what we did in the previous forum was good: an announce where we say that English is preferred, but anyone who doesn't feel comfortable with it, could write down in his language, and someone could translate for him. That is, at the end, far more convenient than Google translate. Or not?
So, we could duplicate that, and announce in the Support forum that there is the possibility of writing in a set of language...we then needn't more Mods, and anything would be more manageable Smiley

Sorry ... I do not know if I understood you ...

You say mixing in the forum post in multiple languages?  Shocked Shocked Huh Huh

Does that it would not be chaotic?

Is it so problematic to create subforums other languages? At least I do not think so.

Can I get someone to explain the real reason why they are not implemented subforums?
I do not think it is problem moderators, or communication since it has been explained.

Yes, you know...we tried it and everything went fine, I think...so...
Well, this would allow us to have just one thread.
Subforums would mean:
_propose a feature
_discuss with the other speakers of your own language
_then open a new thread in "upper" forum...
Don't know, if so many forums have the division in subforums...maybe it is a good idea... I have no experience about that Smiley

no problem, create them, but someone will have to make a small english digest for the developers, so we can read what they are talking about on those subforums, if one user per subforum whant to do that, then no problem..

i think that you should open only the sub forums that have someone that talks in english and the other language so he can talk with devs
