emesene works on Mac Intel and Leopard

It's still in beta but it works very well...seriously, at the moment the 98% of graphics errors aren't our fault.
Gtk for mac is still under heavy development and if you want use it, you have to download, fix and compile yourself.

With this package you don't need that, it works automagically. At the moment this installer needs about 25 minutes to download and compile gtk and install emesene, if you want update emesene simply open the UpdateEmesene

Using native mac gtk pros and cons

Pro:

Feature: All features work (well okay, nearly all!)
Copy/Paste?: If you have used emesene with macports and x11 you were unable to copy or paste anything, now you can!! - Yes, now you can execute emesene on mac NATIVELY!
Sounds: Yeah, also this..sounds now work! Very thanks to JoinTheHell for this, hey man you are very patient! Thanks for your great work!
Webcam: Like linux user, you can receive it!
Themes: Are you sure that Adium is the beauty under the MSN clones? Nah! Now you can use gtk themes!

Cons:

Graphical bugs: I repeat: 98% there aren't our faults! Remember Gtk for mac is still in beta (or even alpha )
ClosingWindow: When you close the last chat window the contact list will appears if hided (Gtk fault)
Webcam: Webcam window is invisible when you use a not default gtk theme (yes you know, still gtk fault)

-Fixed The problem with the opening of a new conversation with the added of a new preference "Hide new conversation window automatically".
-Fixed The file transfer problem, now emesene rename the file correctly.
-Added Theme chooser, I don't wanna hear anymore that emesene isn't beautiful and mac style! You know GTK themes?Well, choose one and click Apply!

-Soon Support for iTunes for "Current Song" feature! (Thanks JoinTheHell)
-Fixed The imageAreaSelector feature, now it works also on mac.

@ spadario: No, I won't use py2app because with the actual version of gtk for mac there's a very annoying bug with the userlist and the chat window if they are hided in the dock; and because the package use the svn both for gtk installation and for emesene, in this way if there are some update or fix both for gtk and emesene the user will have their last version.

ohh.. Can't wait for it to hit the public. Was looking for a new client for my mac since Adium dont support offline msg and own smiles.

Running Emesene on my Windows and Ubuntu machines now, love this client.

I'm really excited about emesene. Can we expect an .app soon? (since i understand nothing of 'building' it yourself  )

no standalone .app simply a .app script that open emesene, we will have two icons on the dock when emesene is running, emesene icon and python icon. Why we will not have only one icon and standalone app? gtk for mac isn't perfect at the moment and I want waiting a stable version of emesene to building an standalone .app

But don't worry you don't need to compile it yourself, you have to do a simple drag & drop and put sometime your password, If you want upgrade emesene in the future, you don't need to compile or rebuild anything. Simply open update emesene script
